KARAKU by me derives its name from the Zen term "嘉楽" (KARAKU), which means "joy and enjoyment." This Zen word, born from the teachings and philosophy of Zen Buddhism, resonates deeply with the essence of the brand. The hair accessories I create embody the idea of "For women who can bring joy to themselves."
I encountered this word while studying Japanese tea ceremonies, where Zen phrases are often used and displayed on ”Kakejiku(Japanese hanging scroll). I was captivated not only by the sound of "嘉楽" but also by the philosophy it represents—finding joy within oneself rather than depending on relationships or external circumstances. This belief forms the core of my brand.
Fashion is also a part of KARAKU. Wearing something you love can elevate your mood and empower you to express yourself with confidence. In Japan, people traditionally wear kimono for special occasions like weddings or coming-of-age ceremonies. However, opportunities to wear them in daily life are rare. When you wear a kimono, with its delicate and beautiful fabric, you naturally stand taller, and a sense of calm washes over you. However, as we age, the occasions to dress up in such a way become less frequent. My hair accessories are designed to bring that feeling of elegance and specialness into everyday life.
In the midst of a busy life, it can be difficult to find the time and energy to care about fashion. We may opt for casual clothing and settle for simple hairstyles. But in those moments, I encourage you to wear a KARAKU by me hair accessories. It adds a touch of elegance around your face, creating a polished impression while allowing you to enjoy your own unique style.
I have already received many wonderful messages from people around the world who practice "KARAKU" fashion. Through these accessories, I aim to support every woman in cherishing herself, shining with confidence, and bringing more brightness to the world.
